…and counting

Over 150 source → target conversions, each verified to produce a correct, valid file. More formats are on the way.

Features

Fast, native, and entirely yours.

Built on Apple's own frameworks — ImageIO, AVFoundation, PDFKit, and WebKit — with zero third-party dependencies and zero network access.

100% on-device

Every conversion runs locally. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is logged — it works exactly the same with Wi-Fi off.

Convert hundreds at once

Drop in a whole batch of files at once. Bit Bridge converts them in parallel and tells you the moment it's done.

Native & fast

No Electron, no bundled binaries, no bloat — just a tiny, sandboxed Mac app using the system's own codecs.

Drop it anywhere

Drag files onto the window from anywhere on your Mac, pick a target format inline, and convert.

Light & dark

A clean, modern interface that follows your Mac's appearance — and looks great in both.

Private by design

Fully App-Sandboxed and listed as Data Not Collected. Bit Bridge has no account and no analytics.

How it works

Drop a file, pick a format, done.

1

Drop your files

Drag anything onto Bit Bridge, or browse by type. They're sorted into clean image, video, audio, document, and archive groups.

2

Pick a format

Each file shows its current format and an arrow to the target. Choose where it should go from a tidy menu of options.

3

Convert

Hit Convert All. Output lands in the folder you choose, ready to use — with a notification when the batch finishes.

Nothing leaves your Mac.

Bit Bridge collects nothing and sends nothing. There's no account, no analytics, and no network connection at all — your files are converted on your own machine and stay there. Read the full privacy policy.

FAQ

Quick answers.

Is Bit Bridge really offline?

Yes. Bit Bridge makes no network requests whatsoever. You can turn off Wi-Fi, unplug ethernet, and every conversion still works — because all of it happens on your Mac using Apple's built-in frameworks.

What can it convert?

Images (PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, HEIC, AVIF, ICO, GIF), video (MP4, MOV, M4V), audio (AAC, M4A, ALAC, WAV, AIFF), documents (TXT, Markdown, HTML, RTF, DOCX, PDF) and archives (ZIP, TAR, GZIP) — over 150 conversions in total.

Why are some formats import-only?

macOS can read certain formats but has no built-in encoder for them, so Bit Bridge accepts WebP, HEIF, AVI, WebM and MP3 as inputs and converts them to a fully supported format. EPUB is export-only. The in-app conversions guide spells out exactly what goes where.

How much does it cost?

Bit Bridge is free.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on both Apple silicon and Intel.

What data does Bit Bridge collect about me?

None. There is no account, no tracking and no analytics. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
